I was born in Michigan, educated in Massachusetts, and found my second home in Ireland. I have lived in Dublin, Galway, Oxford, London, Christchurch in Aotearoa/New Zealand, and Lawrence, Kansas. I am settled in LA. I have written plenty of scholarly books and articles about Europe in the Middle Ages, but I have always wanted to write novels. And now I am.

I have a brilliant husband, fabulous children with equally fabulous spouses, an astonishing grandchild, and two obnoxious dogs. I would invite you to visit, but the dogs would object.
